Do you yearn for a connection with something greater, but have had bad experiences with faith communities in the past? Have you felt a connection with the divine that was so deep and personal, it felt as close to you as the breath in your lungs… and yet others questioned the validity of your faith? Do you want to reconnect to your spiritual side, but don’t know where to begin? Do you wish you could talk to a clergy member who welcomes all doubts, questions, and thoughts without pushing a specific agenda (other than your own healing)? You are not alone.
As part of a religious institution, I know firsthand the damage that misguided religion or abusive dogma can do to a human heart. I am here to try to heal the wounds left behind by misguided religious practices.
With spiritual counseling, you will receive one on one guidance and support as we work toward repairing your connection to the divine. I can help you navigate through spiritual blocks caused by the many things that can test our faith:
grief and loss
big life transitions
traumatic events
betrayals
tragedy
existential crisis
senseless violence
and spiritual abuse
The goal of these sessions are to step into a place of healing and wholeness, no matter where you are on life’s journey.
About Rev. Arik Borstad:
Arik is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, and has a Master’s of Divinty from Eden theological Seminary, where he specialized in spiritual counseling and pastoral care. In addition to being a Senior Pastor for the last 6 years, Arik has been studying religions and spiritual practices from multiple faiths for 15+ years. Therefore, Arik takes a respectful, non-denominational and interfaith approach to spiritual counseling sessions, and will utilize the spiritual practices of whatever faith tradition you are most comfortable with, to seek a deeper understanding of whatever you do (and don’t) believe.
Arik is a tireless advocate for those who have been historically excluded or oppressed within the church. His mission is to change the ills of the church from the inside out.
Spiritual Counseling Rate is $60 per session
